New President


BELLFLOWER BULLETIN


Newly inaugurated Russ Rottigni, will assume the responsibility as the President and Chief Spokesperson for the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce as he and Christina McConnell, Chamber Vice President, were sworn in during the 88th Annual Chamber Installation and Award Presentation on April 28th at the at Eagles Lodge, 9816 Cedar Avenue in Bellflower.

  BOOSTING THE CHAMBER IMAGE — Newly-elected President Russ Rottigni of Rottigni Enterprises, accepts the responsibility to provide inspiring leadership to the officers, directors, ambassadors and members of the Chamber during the Bellflower Chamber’s 88th Annual Inaugural-Installation and Awards Luncheon.

Other Executive Directors installed were Sergeant at Arms Mike Chai from State Farm Insurance and Treasurer Elvia Lopez from Cogburn-Miller Realty. Board of Directors installed were Danny Frechette from JRF Body Collision, Jim Forsyth from Jims4Sale, Carla Bradley from Lunch Stop, David Hallum from HHH Commercial Builders and Joseph Montesa, publisher, Zion Publishing.

Rottigni, who is tasked to provide inspiring leadership to the officers, directors, ambassadors and members of the Chamber, accepted the duties and responsibilities of the position he has been elected to, and committed himself to carry out the most important commitment to the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce as the Chief Elected Officer.

During the ceremony, three Chamber Directors were also presented with awards. The Crystal Bell Award was presented to the Chamber Director, Howard Cole, long-time Bellflower Chamber director and former president. This award was first given in 1982 during the Bellflower Chamber installation as a symbol of service. It is given to the individual who has been a part of the City of Bellflower for a long time and has contributed to the City’s well-being. The individual chosen is someone who exemplifies the motto: “The Friendly City and Growing Together.”

JIM EGAN Past President (third from left) receives a Certificate of Achievement for Outstanding Service from Mayor Ray Smith (right), City Council Member Dan Koops (left) and Mayor Pro Tem Raymond Dunton on behalf of the City of Bellflower. Other Certificates of Recognition and awards Mr. Egan received were from Don Knabe, LA County Supervisor, 4th District; Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34); Assembly member Hector De La Torre and the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce board officers.

The William Peairs Award was presented to Chamber Director, Carla Bradley of Lunch Stop. In 1989 the Bellflower Chamber started the tradition of presenting an award to a member for his/her special contributions of time and talent to the Chamber. This award is named “William Peairs” in honor of this person’s exceptional commitment, time and service to the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce during his time.

The Business of the Year Award went to J&D Corvette located at 9833 Alondra Blvd. in Bellflower for the company’s commitment and continued support to the community and the Chamber.

And finally, the Ambassador of the Year Award was given to Craig Francis, of The UPS Store. This special recognition is given to someone who participates and promotes the Chamber’s programs and activities and who is always willing to volunteer his/her time.

The Bellflower Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1921, committed to take an active part in the City’s business life and progress. The Chamber is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, advancement and promotion of the professional, business, educational, civic, and cultural well-being of Bellflower — all of which make Bellflower an ideal place to live, work and raise a family in.
